Season starts with defeat to Parnells (Saturday 4-April-2009)
 Fulham Irish 1-06 Parnells 1-10
In sunny, but blustery, conditions at Ruislip on Saturday, the Fulham
Irish senior team got their 2009 season off to a sluggish start going
down to a determined Parnells outfit
The game started with Parnells playing the better football and opening
up a 2 point lead, both scores coming following poor errors by the
Fulham lads. Tiarnan O'Rourke opened the Fulham Irish account on 11
minutes quickly followed by a Noel Nicholson free. More sloppy
defending by Fulham let Richard Dempsey in for his first point. This
was quickly followed by the move of the game where smooth passing by
Fulham Irish released Brendan Quinn who raced in on goal and finished
expertly. Another point from Nicholson added to the lead before
sustained pressure from Parnells was rewarded with more scores for
Dempsey to leave the teams level at half time.
The second half saw more error strewn play from the Fulham Irish lads
as they struggled to stay with their opponents and a scrappy half was won by Parnells with the help of a scruffy goal from Dempsey. 2 points from Ryan Cawley and a point from Dave Connolly being the only scores from the game for Fulham Irish.
