Fulham Irish qualify for Tipperary Cup final (Saturday 6-June-2009)

Played in cold, blustery conditions at Ruislip on Saturday evening,
Fulham Irish advanced to their second successive Tipperary final where
they will play Parnells, this seasons form team in London senior
football.
Winning the toss and playing with the breeze, Fulham Irish raced into to a 6 point lead before St Brendans registered a point from a free after a foul on the raiding Fergal Greenan. Marty Hughes and Brendan Quinn scored a couple of points each while Noal Nicholson and Dave Connolly added one each for Fulham Irish. Jarlath Harte score a fine point for St Brendans before a good move started by Conor O'Callaghan and finished by Quinn extended the lead. Quinn fired another point before Paul Moyne was sent off for a second yellow card. Now playing as the free man, John Fitzgerald popped up to score a nice point from fullback, to leave the half time score 0-09 to 0-02.
Introducing Killian Phair from the bench at the restart, St brendans had a golden five minutes firing over 4 unanswered points, 2 from Phair and 1 each for Paddy Bowles and Harte.The move of Hughes to play deep proved instrumental as he carried the game to St Brendans and won two frees for Nicholson to fire over. Hughes then scored himself before setting up Quinn and Liam Barry for points. Phair chipped in with 2 more points, one from an acute angle, one from a free while Harte also added another. Quinn scored his sides last point in the 18th minute of the half. Bothe sides created another 5 chances but only 2 of them were finished, both coming from the boot of Phair.
As well as those mentioned, Fergus O'Domhnaill, Barry Basquille, Harry Murphy, Mark McElroy and Barry McCaffrey played well for Fulham Irish while Shane O'Hare, Paul Malone and Cahal O'Donoghue played well for St Brendans.
