Reserves battle hard in Murphy Cup (Saturday 4-April-2009)
 Fulham Irish 2-02 Moindearg 2-09
The Fulham Irish reserves put in a battling display against a strong
Moindearg team including London midfielder, David Hogan. Wining the
toss, Fulham Irish decided to play with the wind and started very
strongly, getting all their scores in the first 16 minutes of the
game.
The Fulham Irish lads opened Moindearg up in the 11th minute when Liam
Barry outfoxed his marker, ran on goal before slipping the ball to
Garvan O'Callaghan who finished to the net. O'Callaghan quickly
followed up with a point before another slick move down the right
ended with Brendan Dolan finding Barry, who finished to the net.
Fulham Irish again won the kick out and the ball was played to Barry,
who scored what was to be his teams final score of the game.
The rest of the game was all about the superior fitness of the
Moindearg team. They ground out a result here but the Fulham Irish
lads have to be admired for making it difficult for them. The card
count of 4 yellow & 1 red for Moindearg to 1 yellow fro Fulham Irish
demonstrates te frustration they felt.
