Reserves lose to North London Shamrocks    (Sunday 19-April-2009)

Fulham Irish 1-04 North London Shamrocks 1-11

Another Murphy Cup game for the Fulham Irish reserves produced a decent performance against last years Intermediate Championship finalists who also included Eamonn Scanlon following his close season transfer.

Losing players from the Moindearg game to fill in in the Tipperary Cup, things looked bad enough as John Doyle and Paul Quinn were included in the teams full forward line! However, playing a decent brand of football assisted by the breeze, Fulham Irish Reserves won the first half, leading 1-02 to 0-03 at the break, the lead coming through competitive tackling, slick football and a bit of luck, which provided the goal as Terry Vincent's punt was dropped to the net by the North London goalkeeper.

The second half saw an increase in pace from North London as they battled to build a lead and take the game. It continued to be made difficult for them by tenacious defending as Willie Fogarty, Fergus O'Domhnaill & Cormac Finn drove on the defence, Niall Haughey and John Fitzgerald done well at midfield while Vincent, Eoin Lanigan, Ollie Mc Kinley and Patrick Gallagher ran themselves to a standstill as the oldies strolled about the pitch!

Team: M Burke, W Fogarty, A Lavery, F O'Domhnaill, F McCann, B Dolan, C Finn, N Haughey, J Fitzgerald, E Lanagan, T Vincent, O McKinley, P Gallagher, J Doyle, P Quinn
