Fulham Irish Reserves draw league fixture (Thursday 4-June-2009)
 Fulham Irish 2-08 Kingdom/Kerry Gaels 1-11
Played on a balmy, if cool evening at Greenford, Fulham Irish Reserves
earned a draw in a game that the club statistics suggested they
actually won by 2 points. Such is life and the referee holds the
official score for the match.
The Fulham Irish lads quickly settled, Ollie McKinley firing over a free and a score from play and John Enright scoring a nice point on the run. Terry Vincent extended the lead with a well worked point before John Holly, who starred against the senior team last week, scored his first point for Kingdom/Kerry Gaels. Another point from Colm Ennis followed before Holly added his second. Good play involving Cormac Finn, Andrew Lavery and Niall Haughey freed Liam Barry to score a point. More good work from Finn and Ollie McGrath saw Haughey score the games first goal, leaving the half time score 1-05 to 0-03 in favour of Fulham Irish.
Ennis scored a quick point on the restart before Enright, Vincent and Haughey added points for the Fulham men. Holly was instumental in all the good play that followed, carrying the ball and setting up and taking scores as Kingdom/Kerry Gaels reduced the arrears, the goal coming from Michael McMahon. A foul on Barry gave substitute Hugh John McPoland the chance to point from a free. With the game entering the final minutes, the ball was worked down field, with Brendan Dolan breaking from corner back, where McKinley, following a couple of swipes, scored his teams second goal. Kingdom/Kerry Gaels scored 2 more points before the game was halted and the announcement from he referee that the game was a draw.
As well as those mentioned, Willie Fogarty, Liam Frawley, Finian McCann and Mark McVey had good games for Fulham Irish.
